Version 2.4.0 candidate. Does not overwrite published 2.3.3 assets. Suggested tag after CI (and a real-model Metal smoke if a GGUF is on the machine): v2.4.0.

This Mac Mini is native Apple silicon (uname -m=arm64, hw.optional.arm64=1, not Rosetta). UI: tsc --noEmit clean, 877 Vitest tests passed. cargo is not on PATH on this worker, so native unit tests were not compiled here; CI macos.yml / native.yml should cover them.

Easy sign-in (Robert follow-up)

One picker on the empty conversation (and Settings › Accounts for full management). New API keys send prefer_keyring so they land in the macOS Keychain when it is available.

Provider What got easier Still blocked
Codex Connect on first screen / empty chat (vendor CLI browser sign-in) Needs codex CLI installed
Claude Connect on first screen Needs claude CLI installed; no password form (by design)
Cursor Connect on first screen Needs cursor-agent CLI installed
Antigravity Install & connect on first screen (was Settings-only) Google OAuth in the vendor page; ~334 MB agent download
Grok Connect when the Grok CLI is present; xAI API key on the same picker CLI not bundled; without CLI, use the xAI key (or OpenRouter)
API keys OpenRouter, xAI, and OpenAI paste-and-save inline; Keychain on Mac Other OpenAI-compatible hosts still use Settings › Accounts › endpoints

T3-style first run (before → after)

  1. First useful action — Before: Welcome (project + permission radios) then a blocking “Choose a model” wizard. After: Open project (ask-first by default) → chat with composer ready.
  2. Chat-first — Empty conversation is Connect / Save key / Download a free model. Sidebar chips: Working / Done / Needs approval. Permission short label: Allow edits.
  3. Git without a terminal — Changes: Commit + Open pull request… jumps to the Git tab (Create pull request was already there).
  4. Fewer clicks for providers / Metal — Sign-in is on the first working screen. Doctor reports Apple silicon vs Intel vs Rosetta and Metal default.metallib. Packaging prefers arm64 even under Rosetta.

Apple silicon fine-tune

  • GGML_METAL_PATH_RESOURCES at runtime so Metal shaders next to llama-server load.
  • Build scripts detect Rosetta and still produce native arm64.
  • Darwin /var/folders/<xx>/<yyyy>/T names are not redacted as secrets.
  • Doctor: host-arch + Metal checks.

Still open: ad-hoc signing / no notarization; no real GGUF generate on this pass (runtime path is wired). Do not tag until CI is green.

Open in Web Open in Cursor

Open project lands in chat. Connect Codex, Claude, Cursor, Antigravity,
and Grok (or paste OpenRouter/xAI/OpenAI keys) from that screen; new
keys prefer the macOS Keychain. Metal runtime path, Rosetta-aware
packaging, and Darwin TMPDIR redaction land with the version bump.
