fix(create): generate starters that pass Biome lint - #570
Generated Biome starters currently fail their own lint command: standard React reports noDangerouslySetInnerHtml, and both Solid presets report useHtmlLang. This keeps the theme initialization before hydration with Router's ScriptOnce helper and adds the default English document language to Solid.
AI review notes:
Four blocking cases generate standard and blank React/Solid apps outside the monorepo, install dependencies, build, type-check and run the generated lint command. The fixture helper now accepts an explicit toolchain. Existing theme tests cover first paint, hydration, storage failures and cross-tab updates.
Validation: the normal commit hook passed all 10 builds, lint, 569 unit tests and all 14 blocking browser cases, with no browser retries.
Reproduced the original lint failures on current main before the fix. No lint rules or budgets were relaxed. CLI artifact size is unchanged; create's shipped JavaScript is +236 raw bytes and -97 gzip bytes. No deployment or authentication provider was contacted.
React and Solid starter templates have root-document updates. CLI end-to-end tests now run Biome linting on standard and blank fixtures for both frameworks.
Changes: Starter Templates
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Update React and Solid root templates packages/create/src/frameworks/react/project/base/src/routes/__root.tsx.ejs, packages/create/src/frameworks/solid/project/base/src/routes/__root.tsx.ejs, .changeset/clean-biome-starters.md
The React root templates use ScriptOnce for theme initialization. The Solid root templates set lang="en". The changeset records these starter updates.
Enable and run Biome fixture tests packages/cli/tests-e2e/helpers.ts, packages/cli/tests-e2e/biome-smoke.spec.ts
The fixture helper accepts a toolchain option and passes it to the CLI. Four end-to-end cases run lint for React and Solid fixtures in standard and blank configurations.
The starter updates have no established merge-blocking issue.
