Upgrade to Jackson 3 #801

As you may have already noticed, the switch to Jackson 3 is quite big and most projects are preparing the upgrade at least. I didn't see an open issue targeting this, so I wanted to open one. Are there any blockers for Jackson 3 in case someone already took a look?
