fix(sync): stop the catalog sync re-embedding vectors it already had - #1141
Conversation
- New shows get their newest 5 episodes embedded first; the rest of the window follows after 7 days on the charts (most leave before then). - The nightly trim fails closed when its cap lookup fails, and shows keep the highest cap they earned while their vectors are kept. - Stage 3 never hands stage 4 a one-item fallback list, and stage 4 only prunes against a full window. - Vectors whose upload failed are spooled to disk and uploaded first by the next run. - turso.text() binds catalog keys as text; remediation uses per-show caps.

remediate-qdrant.js referenced the trimmed show list removed with its local trim loop, so a dry or live run failed after step 5. The cap trim now returns the trimmed show IDs. Stage 4 clears a show's depth date only after its re-flag is written, the vector spool folder no longer depends on the working directory, and the spool tests check what they name.

If a saved batch fails to replay on the next run,
vectorSpool.replayreturnsleft > 0, but stage 4 continues. It can prune that show to a newer episode window and mark the show complete. A later replay then uploads the older batch after the prune. The completed show is no longer selected for cleanup. Stop show processing while replay leaves batches, or reconcile superseded batches before completing their shows.🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

Summary
Stops the catalog sync from deleting and then re-embedding vectors it already had, and stops new chart shows from costing a full window of embeddings straight away.
Motivation
The sync embeds about 50k episodes a day while the vector store stays flat, so most of that work redoes earlier work. The largest share is chart churn: shows join the charts, get their whole window embedded, and are deleted again a week after they leave. Several code paths also delete vectors that are later re-embedded.
What changed
lib/vector-window.js, stage 4). A show with no vectors gets its newestNEW_ENTRANT_EPISODES(5) embedded. Its depth date (shows[id].din the sync state) is setNEW_ENTRANT_DEPTH_DAYS(7) ahead. When that date passes, stage 4 flags the show once for its full window. Shows that left the charts by then never get it.lib/episode-caps.js). A show keeps the highest cap it had while its vectors are kept (shows[id].k). The sync state entry is deleted together with the show, so the cap lasts exactly as long as the vectors. A US/GB show that leaves those charts no longer loses 30 vectors.lib/trim-episode-caps.js). If the chart cap lookup fails, nothing is trimmed; before, every show fell back to 20. The trim andremediate-qdrant.jsboth use the larger of the chart cap and the earned cap. Remediation no longer uses the old blanket 50.handoffList). When the full fetch comes back empty, stage 4 fetches the list itself instead of receiving the one-item tip.pruneIsSafe).lib/vector-spool.js). A batch whose upsert fails is written toSYNC_SPOOL_DIR(defaultscripts/data/vector-spool/, gitignored). The next stage 4 uploads it before embedding anything, so its existence checks see those points. Batches older than 7 days are dropped.lib/turso.js).turso.text(value)binds a value as TEXT even when it's all digits, so a catalog key like00123stays00123.
