Evolutionary ecologist working with microbes. I combine experiments, data synthesis and eco-evolutionary theory to understand, and ultimately predict, how populations and communities persist and adapt as their environment changes. Research scholar in the Brown Lab at Georgia Tech, supported by a Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship.
Research themes
- Energy: what it costs cells to persist, from the ATP budget of making a spore to evolution during 1,000 days of starvation.
- Predictability: when infection outcomes can be forecast, from host health and survival to the accelerating risk of death across host-pathogen systems.
- Noise: how environmental fluctuations and sampling noise shape host-phage dynamics and what routine resistance testing can reveal.
