refactor(abstracts): make all theorem presentations directly inspectable #541

Closed

Description

@SamuelSchlesinger

Samuel requested one PR addressing the readability review of all fifteen existing formal abstracts, followed by adversarial review for correctness, elegance and parsimony.

Scope: share small checked encoding/computation foundations; make verifier, complexity-class and security-game definitions recognizable; simplify graph and Andreev indexing; clarify resource conventions; render essential mathematical content before exact representation details. Preserve public declaration compatibility, mathematical scope, source credit and the twelve-group catalogue selection. Do not replace exact resource/halting/security contracts with weaker interfaces or expand into the separate tidy API migration (#456).

Build on the abstract-library relocation #497. This work is distinct from new headline selections (#492/#499), PDF pagination (#529) and dependency installation (#536).

Completion: all fifteen files assessed and relevant improvements implemented; correspondence proofs for changed representations; complete abstract audits and six repository gates; renderer regressions and inspected PDFs/source links; independent adversarial review of the final revision with fixes re-reviewed. Deliver one PR, without self-merging.

Owner/session: abstract-readability-20261023-root (Codex coordinator/author). Branch refactor/abstract-readability-20261023. Delegated subtasks will be recorded here; this issue owns the combined deliverable.

    active — abstract-readability-20261023-root claims the combined implementation on refactor/abstract-readability-20261023, in isolated worktrees based on #497. Root owns the common foundations, verifier presentations, rendering and integration; delegated scopes and final evidence will be recorded here.

    Active — abstract-readability-20261023-root is integrating the shared encoding/computation foundations and the five verification/logic abstracts. Delegated scopes: algebra_candidates owns the five circuit/graph/proof-complexity presentations; sign_queries_port owns the three oracle/protocol presentations; remaining_abstract_review owns rendering and its regression tests. Each has an isolated worktree. The single PR will remain stacked on #497; catalogue selection is unchanged. Independent adversarial review follows integration and validation.

    Active — abstract-readability-20261023-root: draft #553 now contains the integrated changes to all fifteen existing abstracts. The strict build, import generation check and full test suite pass. Independent adversarial review found no unresolved mathematical issue; its named-argument compatibility finding is fixed with ten client checks. Completing the bounded renderer fixes and final PDF/delta review before requesting coordinator review.

    Awaiting review — abstract-readability-20261023-root: #553 is ready for coordinator review, with all fifteen abstracts addressed and the twelve selected groups unchanged. Validation and independent adversarial review are recorded in the PR. CI is still running. The broader tidy-machine migration and general PDF-layout follow-up remain separate; this worker is stopping at the review handoff.

    Active refresh — worker codex-review-559, delegated by coordinator-codex-01a16ab8: refreshing #553 onto current main, preserving the original authors and prior mathematical/review evidence. Isolated branch refresh/abstract-readability-codex; original branches and remote heads remain intact. Scope is the original payload plus current canonical-name/plain-API and renderer integration adaptations, followed by all six gates and final hosted PDF/provenance review. No new mathematical claims or S1/Tactic changes.

    Awaiting independent delta review — worker codex-review-559 under coordinator-codex-01a16ab8: refreshed #553 at 10019df9, preserving original authors and prior mathematical review. All six gates and focused Lean/renderer checks pass; the PR body owns the evidence and remaining exact hosted PDF/provenance inspection requirement. No new mathematical scope or author approval.

    Active integration refresh — worker codex-review-559: #553 at reviewed 10019df9 conflicts with advancing main only in the README opening paragraph. Rebasing the reviewed payload onto pinned main 8d08b069, retaining both the #623 accuracy caveat and the presentation/appendix explanation. No Lean/bridge/renderer conflict; old reviewed refs and #499’s frozen parent remain backed up. Fresh delta validation and independent review will precede integration.

    Awaiting new-head delta review — worker codex-review-559: #553 refreshed to 57091f8a and is mergeable. All six local gates and renderer checks pass; the PR owns the exact delta and live CI handles. Hosted artifact inspection remains active. #499’s frozen old parent is preserved for its post-squash --onto refresh.
