Problem

The robots.txt for TUL had not been updated in a long time and had drifted from dtq-dev. Most notably it still contained:

Disallow: /handle
Disallow: /browse

/handle does not belong in the TUL robots file, and the file was also missing the newer crawler rules that dtq-dev already has.

Change

Synced src/robots.txt.ejs with the dtq-dev version — the file is now identical to dtq-dev:

  • Removed Disallow: /handle and Disallow: /browse.
  • Added the Discovery facet / scoped-search rules that keep crawlers off facet-filter and per-collection/community search URLs, which were saturating SSR:
    • Disallow: /entities/*?f
    • Disallow: /collections/*/search
    • Disallow: /communities/*/search
    • Disallow: /*?f.
    • Disallow: /*&f.

Not taken from vanilla

Vanilla 8.x and newer also has these two rules (upstream commit 9b03e82):

Disallow: /collections/*?f
Disallow: /communities/*?spc.page

They do nothing on TUL. On 7.6 the community page has no search. Its lists page with cmcl.page and cmscm.page, not spc.page. Facet links on collection pages are already blocked by /*?f.. Vanilla did not add these rules to dspace-7_x either.

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

Removes the stale `Disallow: /handle` (and `/browse`) rules and adds the
Discovery facet/scoped-search rules that protect SSR from crawler load.
