Adds the minimal browser-testing foundation: WebdriverIO with one read-only smoke of the public homepage. Chrome runs locally or through the manual CI workflow against an explicit URL. Firefox and native Safari are optional desktop targets; iOS Safari and Android Chrome use an external Appium server and repo invocation environment.

Failure logs and screenshots stay in ignored .dev/browser/<run-id>/; no cloud service, visual baselines or comprehensive flow suite is added. Existing tests remain intact.

Validation: Full check and build pass. Actual Chrome smoke passes against silveltman.nl. Malformed driver endpoints fail without printing their contents. Independent Sol and Opus reviews and final fix rechecks completed.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Tests
    • Added browser smoke tests that verify the app loads at the requested deployment URL, displays a page title, and shows its main heading.
    • Added a manually triggered Chrome check for deployed sites, with test artifacts saved whether the run succeeds or fails.
    • Browser tests support desktop and mobile targets; unavailable targets are reported as unavailable rather than passed.
  • Documentation
    • Added instructions for running browser smoke tests and selecting targets and headed mode.

The astro-template's WebdriverIO setup: a read-only homepage smoke
against an explicit BASE_URL for Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Appium iOS
and Android, and a Chrome workflow to run it on request. The a11y scan
is unchanged.

The browser smoke workflow is mergeable with bounded risk, but checkout should stop retaining its token and capability settings should fail without echoing input.

- Line 20: Update the actions/checkout step in the browser smoke workflow to set
persist-credentials to false, preventing the checkout token from remaining
available to pnpm install and test code.

- Line 89: Validate WEBDRIVER_CAPABILITIES in the browser configuration before
spreading it: parse it safely, reject invalid JSON and any value that is null,
an array, or a non-object, and report a generic error without exposing input
contents. Spread the validated object instead of parsing inline; leave
WEBDRIVER_URL handling unchanged.
