- safety in code, not in prompts - a deterministic scala 3 (kyo) score with a hard safety veto; the llm explains, never overrules
- local-first ai - runs on ollama with no account or api key: an mcp tool server, rag with citations, dspy-compiled prompts and its own small model, marola-sea
- designed in public - every non-trivial change starts as a public design doc (MIPs); next up: ressaca (storm surf) warnings, wave-model ensembles with WAVEWATCH III, an open archive of brazil's beach water quality
