Summary

Stacked on #346 (base is its branch, so the diff shows only this change). EchoFidelity.Fibre was a hand-written Σ-type with no Echo import. It is now Echo (account T) (mapped t) by definition, so the structure theory of Echo applies to fibres directly, and the module becomes a genuine Tier 1 derived module (only Echo + stdlib).

Changes

  • proofs/agda/EchoFidelity.agda: imports Echo; Fibre T t = Echo (account T) (mapped t); adds fibre-is-echo (refl), mapped-in-fibre, fibre-of-image (via echo-intro), and dropped-not-mapped / dropped-not-in-fibre (an atom with a drop reason cannot also be the source of a target atom). The stale "NOT YET TYPE-CHECKED" header is replaced. The 4-vs-5 direction check is untouched.
  • docs/echo-types/echo-kernel-note.adoc: EchoFidelity moves from docs(kernel): classify EchoFidelity as a standalone draft outside the kernel cone #346's standalone-draft row into the Tier 1 list; that row is removed.
  • docs/echo-types/MAP.adoc, docs/echos/README.adoc, docs/echos/FIDELITY-FIBRE-DESIGN.adoc, docs/echos/BOT-PROMPT.adoc: status wording updated (type-checked; Fibre is Echo).

Not changed: the module is still not wired into All.agda / Smoke.agda, as its header and the bot brief require until you ask. The design note's limits ("does not show that matched atoms mean the same") are unchanged; this proves bookkeeping facts, not fidelity.

Verification

  • agda -i proofs/agda proofs/agda/EchoFidelity.agda: exit 0 (Agda 2.6.3, stdlib 2.3).
  • sh scripts/kernel-guard.sh: PASS. bash tools/check-guardrails.sh proofs/agda: OK (210 modules).

Merge order

Merge #346 first. Because it adds the row this PR removes, I will rebase this branch onto main afterwards (it is my branch) so the removal applies cleanly.

Base automatically changed from docs/classify-echofidelity to main October 19, 2026 21:43
Fibre T t is now Echo (account T) (mapped t) rather than a hand-written
Sigma, so the structure theory of Echo applies to fibres with no
transport (fibre-is-echo is refl). Adds mapped-in-fibre and the
dropped-not-in-fibre lemma: an atom with a drop reason cannot also be the
source of a target atom. The module now imports Echo and stdlib only, so
it moves from the standalone-draft row to Tier 1 in the kernel note.

Type-checks under Agda 2.6.3 / stdlib 2.3, --safe --without-K, no
postulates. Still unwired from All.agda and Smoke.agda; docs/echos status
updated from unverified to type-checked.
