I'm a senior engineering manager and staff level software engineer with 15 years of commercial experience, currently working as a software and AI engineering consultant from Munich.
I build full-stack web, mobile, and cloud applications and design distributed platform architectures, writing code across paradigms with an affinity for FP practices.
I create high-performing engineering teams through co-creation and servant leadership principles, championing accessibility along the way, and working cross-org and cross-team to bridge gaps and tie my domain together. Process comes before hierarchy, keeping structures decentralised and standards shared.
My engineering fundamentals come first, identifying and resolving issues through observation, discussion, collaboration, and continuous refinement of how we work, leading from the front in both management and hands-on scenarios. I also help teams adopt AI/ML in their daily work responsibly and with a focus on ethical usage, from custom model training to LLM-powered products and agentic workflows. I'm a native English speaker comfortable working in German at B2/C1 level, at home in both UK and German work cultures.
I work remote-first from Munich, collaborating across time zones within a +/- 6 hour window of CET. I do my best work in high trust environments where direction is set together and standards are shared rather than imposed.
My work spans fintech, e-commerce, automotive, aviation, energy, IoT, telecommunications, manufacturing, and healthtech, and companies I have worked with in the past include the DVAG, Cyberport, STIHL, Scandinavian Airlines, BMW, Bosch, and Telia.
