Summary

  • Releases: pushing a v* tag runs vet and the race tests, then GoReleaser builds agent-browser-mcp for macOS, Linux and Windows (amd64 and arm64) and publishes the archives (about 4 MB each, with README and LICENSE), checksums.txt and a changelog grouped by feature and fix. Tags like v2.1.0-rc1 become pre-releases.
  • CI: every pull request and push to main runs gofmt, vet, the race tests and a snapshot release build, so a broken release config shows up before a tag.
  • Version: release builds take it from the tag (-X main.version); go install and go build report the module version Go stamps into the binary, instead of a hard-coded 2.0.0.
  • README: Quick start offers the release download before building from source (with the macOS quarantine note), and Development says how to cut a release.

v2.0.0 was already pushed at 1dc2341, which has no workflow, so nothing ran. After this merges, move it to the merge commit to publish 2.0.0.

Test plan

  • goreleaser check and goreleaser release --snapshot --clean (v2.18.3): six archives built; the darwin/arm64 binary starts and reports the snapshot version
  • actionlint on both workflows: no errors
  • gofmt -l, go vet ./..., go vet -tags integration ./..., go test -race ./... on macOS
  • CI on this PR: the race tests on Linux (first Linux run) and the snapshot build

- Pushing a v* tag runs vet and the race tests, then GoReleaser builds
agent-browser-mcp for macOS, Linux and Windows (amd64 and arm64) and
publishes the archives, checksums and a grouped changelog.
- CI runs gofmt, vet, the race tests and a snapshot release build on
every pull request and push to main.
- The version comes from the tag (-X main.version), or from the module
version Go stamps into the binary, instead of a hard-coded 2.0.0.
- The README offers the release download before building from source,
and says how to cut a release.
