New checkouts currently require separate dependency, Docker, registry, and browser-library troubleshooting. Add
dev-checkfor read-only prerequisite checks anddev-browserfor project-pinned Chromium installation, local launch checks, and test commands with optional user-local APT libraries.Validation: 123 Python tests ran successfully (121 passed, 2 optional live PostgreSQL tests skipped); shell syntax and diff checks passed. Full install/uninstall/selective cleanup/reinstall lifecycle passed in a disposable HOME. Against Bingo, Docker/registry diagnostics passed, rootless browser installation and cache reuse passed, and the real Playwright end-to-end test passed.
Rootless browser support targets headless Chromium on Ubuntu/Debian with existing APT indexes. Unknown Playwright dependency-report formats fail with guidance rather than being executed. The active installation checkout has not been switched to this branch.
