CLAUDE.md's process section is now one line per rule with a link to the MoonWalk process that holds its steps, so each rule has one home, and the agents' memory moved into the repo pages and processes where contributors read it. The commit checks group into four subprocesses the map and MoonDeck follow, and the contribution rules gain WLED's core rule on AI-written code. KPI: 256lights | Desktop:2343KB | tick:7/10/7/2/8/9/285/7/7/10us(FPS:142857/100000/142857/500000/125000/111111/3508/142857/142857/100000) | src:331(83292) | test:244(56204) | functions-over:349 Commit: src +3/-3 lines | test +116/-44 lines | code findings 1610 -> 1609 (duplicated block -2, large file +1) | duplicated lines 3586 -> 3338 (-248) Checks: the commit process's triggered steps: specs, prose, build_docs --strict, check_docgen (0 errors, 3079 warnings), check_taglines, build_desktop and --tests, test_desktop (2587), run_scenario (17 passed, 15 live-only skipped), test_host --js (329) and --python (498), check_devices, check_firmwares, then the ESP32 builds for esp32, esp32s3-n16r8 and esp32p4rev3-eth last and their freshness checks: all pass. check_code fails on one rule only: large files 25 to 26, from unit_MoonLiveLayout.cpp's 1113 lines, which #144's backlight tests grew and this commit does not touch. no-jit and improv not triggered. **Core** - `CMakeLists.txt` and `test/CMakeLists.txt`: GCC 16.2's three false positives (null-dereference, array-bounds, maybe-uninitialized) stop being fatal on mm_tests only, from that version on, and null-dereference is back among the pre-16 four; doctest's Clang `#warnings` and MSVC C5285 are scoped to mm_tests too. - `esp32/main/CMakeLists.txt`: the MoonLive catalog rule outputs a stamp, as the desktop's does, so a clean build no longer deletes the tracked `script_catalog.h`; three ESP32 builds left it unchanged. - FirmwareUpdateModule's partition control says its value is the running image and its total the slot. **Scripts/MoonDeck** - `walk_status.py` follows a step that runs a subprocess into its steps, guarding cycles; `moonwalk.js` shows such a step as its group's state and opens the subprocess from it. - MoonDeck.md: the `check_docgen` reasoning moved from CLAUDE.md, a subprocess step in `/api/gates`, the UI runs never a gate with the reason, the docs preview's hook reload, the QEMU watchdog artifact. **Tests** - Python: a parent process reports its children's steps, a subprocess reached twice or in a cycle reads once, and the commit fold keeps its step ids within every cap. - JS: a subprocess step's combined state. **Docs/CI** - CLAUDE.md, 289 to about 115 lines: The Process keeps the rules that bind beyond one process and links the rest; Roles gains a root cause named a hypothesis until traced, an agent posting on GitHub only what the product owner read with no agent attribution in their name, and reporting the real situation. - MoonWalk: `commit` folds into commit-docs, commit-code, commit-web and commit-scripts; the stage files win on every trigger glob (`no-jit` gains src/light/moonlive, `js` reads docs/assets/*.js); `contribute-pr` rebases only before the first push and carries the contributor's AI rule (vouch for every line, answer in your own words, say what an agent wrote and what was tested); the product owner asks CodeRabbit for each review; the Roles rules leave the stage files. - The agents' memory (step 11f): 170 files read, 103 already said in the repo, 42 moved one or two sentences each into coding-standards, lessons.md, the stage files, MoonDeck.md and the pages they name, 19 obsolete; power-functions.md states the one effect rule, backlog-light.md the 44-46 flash finding. - The plan records 11e, 11f and step 21 as built, and `testing.md` links the commit process for its triggers. **Reviews** - 👾 commit-time, seven points: libc++ rather than libstdc++, a CLAUDE.md anchor and three em-dashes in edited lines, judgment, the `--ui` reason, MSVC's doctest flag to the test target → done; duplicates between CLAUDE.md and the processes → done, one home each; the "Report the real situation" bundle → trimmed to its rules. Review comments at @docs/contributing/coding-standards.md:
- Line 233: Update the scripted-edit guidance to require reading back the full
diff for the edited path, rather than using git diff --stat, which only
summarizes changes. Keep the surrounding fresh-state and single-match
requirements unchanged.
- Line 20: Update the coding standard’s string-comparison guidance to state
explicitly that strcmp is only for null-terminated C strings; recommend value
equality for std::string and std::string_view to avoid incorrect comparisons
when strings contain embedded NUL characters.
- Line 20: Rewrite the “Include what you use, and compare strings with strcmp”
guideline using positive, present-tense wording; describe the required actions
and compiler behavior directly without negative constructions.
- Line 39: Update the “Reference, don't copy” guidance to avoid assuming the
default branch is named main. In the friend-repository contract instruction,
tell readers to resolve the fetched repository’s actual default branch before
using it to read the contract.
Review comments at @docs/reference/testing.md:
- Line 135: Update the suite-boundary sentence in the testing documentation to
use positive, present-tense wording that states the C++ suites cover C++ and
Python and JS use their own host-side unit tier; remove the negative “can’t
reach” phrasing and preserve the existing test paths and runner details.
- Line 135: Update the PR-trigger claim in the testing documentation to say the
Python and JS suites run on pull requests only when the paths match the filter
in the test workflow. Keep the existing description of their execution and
commit checks unchanged.
Review comments at @docs/work/past/lessons.md:
- Line 64: Narrow the shared-cause conclusion in this lesson: apply it only when
the fault follows the physical strip after swapping lanes. Do not imply that a
lane-local symptom rules out shared code with lane-specific paths.
Review comments at @docs/work/present/Plan-20261015 - Processes, described
once.md:
- Line 325: Update the file-count breakdown in the completion report so the
groups, total removed, and three retained files reconcile with the 170 files
read. Then mark step 11f complete and update the “Copies removed” table’s
memory-file count to match the corrected report.
Review comments at @moonwalk/14-merge.yaml:
- Line 18: Update the force-push guidance in the “It carries only its own
commits” instruction to state separately that rewriting a branch can mark
affected review threads outdated and can remove maintainer commits if the
rewritten history omits them; do not claim that force-pushing drops review
comments.
- Line 199: Update the `gh pr checkout` warning to state that the fork push
configuration applies when no fork remote exists and maintainer edits are
enabled, and that a stray branch on origin can result when an editor ignores
that setting and pushes to origin.

Every route the device serves is described in OpenAPI and rendered as the REST API page, and MoonWalk steps call those operations, copying as a ready curl line. 🟡 Minor · Use caller-scoped status for a subprocess step. · moonwalk.js:282

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick winUse caller-scoped status for a subprocess step.
If a calling step has a changed-path guard,
steps[sub]reports the subprocess as queried on its own. It does not carry that caller guard.gateOfcan therefore show the parent step as needed or passed when the parent’s guarded status is untriggered. - Around line 338-341: Update the parameter validation loop that checks
placeholders in op["path"] to also validate required query parameters declared
by the operation, including FilePath.path for readFile. Report missing query
parameters through the existing errors mechanism before generating the call,
while preserving the current path-parameter checks.
Review comments at @moondeck/docs/walk_status.py:
- Around line 163-164: Update the freshness check using `covers` and `sets` to
evaluate the caller’s applicability against the current change, then invalidate
the recorded pass when a relevant child path changes after `last["tree"]`. Do
not require one change to satisfy every glob set before treating a later
relevant child-path edit as invalidating the pass.
Review comments at @moonwalk/02-install.yaml:

- Line 406: Update the low-memory swap guidance in the install instructions to
distinguish Raspberry Pi OS from other images. Keep the existing dphys-swapfile
steps for Raspberry Pi OS and add a generic swap-file setup route for systems
without dphys-swapfile.
- Around line 386-388: Update the locale step so the board stops accepting the
Mac’s invalid LC_* environment variables over SSH; generating en_US.UTF-8 does
not address the incoming LC_CTYPE value. Locate the step by its id, locale, and
configure SSH to ignore the client locale variables.

apply only to the desk route. Adjust the Chrome MIDI prompt wording in the
detail instructions so gamepad users are not told to expect a prompt.
- Around line 201-204: Update the device-address step to refer to Network
instead of WiFi: change its instruction text and the module opened by the `when`
condition to `NetworkModule`. Keep the existing address detail unchanged.
Review comments at @moonwalk/07-maintain.yaml:
- Around line 181-185: Update the txpower step so it guides users to lower
txPowerSetting gradually from 20 dBm while observing the lights, rather than
setting it directly to 2 dBm. In its detail, warn that low power may disconnect
the device and the setting persists, and instruct users to restore the setting
after testing.
Review comments at @moonwalk/15-release.yaml:
- Line 17: Update the release workflow’s `when: { process: commit }` setting to
invoke the check subprocesses without running the commit process, so checks do
not reach staging or `git commit`.
Review comments at @src/core/system/HttpServerModule.cpp:
- Around line 2079-2084: Update handleDeleteModule to reject a path containing a
remaining slash with a 404 before routeModuleName decodes the module name,
preventing DELETE requests for sub-resource paths from deleting the parent

| **A finding in a header is an error; one in an implementation file is a warning, with one rule in each direction.** No-hard-wrap blocks in both kinds of file: the tree is at zero findings, so there is nothing left to stage. The line-length cap warns in both, because it is new and its findings are lines nobody wrote wrongly. A staged rule joins the others as the tree meets it. A header's comments are the published page, so a defect there ships, while a `.cpp` publishes nothing and its comments are a note to the next reader. Both are counted and both are reported, because a warning nobody sees is a warning nobody fixes. The split stages the sweep rather than ranking the two kinds of comment, so it goes and everything blocks once the warning column reaches zero. That is how Vale's own config promotes a page to error as the sweep finishes it. | ||

Restrict access to the coordinator bridge.
socket.create_server(("0.0.0.0", args.tcp)) accepts connections on every host interface. accept() replaces the current client without checking its identity. A client that can reach this TCP port can therefore displace Zigbee2MQTT, send bytes to the coordinator, and receive its serial output. Bind to the intended interface and restrict access with a firewall or an authenticated transport. Document the required restriction with the deployment steps.

Name the required MoonDeck test script instead of ctest.
Line 247 calls ctest the house rule, while Line 261 gives the MoonDeck test command. The unchanged classroom instruction at Line 316 also says to run ctest. Replace both references so a contributor follows one test procedure. Based on learnings, “never run ctest, cmake, pytest, node --test or idf.py directly when a script wraps it.”

Invalidate a pass when a relevant path changes after the run.
Suppose a parent requires src/** and its child requires test/**. After both paths change and the child passes, a further edit to test/** leaves both guards satisfied against HEAD. The edit since the pass satisfies only one glob set, so covers(since[last["tree"]]) is false and Line 174 still marks the old pass fresh. Evaluate the caller’s applicability against the current change, then invalidate the pass for a new change to a relevant child path.

Setting TX power straight to 2 dBm can disconnect the device, and the setting persists.
The set jumps directly to 2. The detail, however, describes a sweep down from 20 dBm. At 2 dBm, a device a few metres from the access point can drop off WiFi. The interface then becomes unreachable. Reject a DELETE path that has more segments after the module name.
routeModuleName calls decodeModuleName, which stops at the first /. Before this change, handleDeleteModule passed the raw tail to findModuleByName. A request such as DELETE /api/modules/Foo/document then got 404, because no module is named Foo/document. Now that request decodes to Foo and deletes Foo and every child under it.
The OpenAPI document defines DELETE only on /api/modules/{name}. A client that sends DELETE to the wrong sub-resource path therefore deletes a module tree, and the delete cannot be undone. The query string is removed before routing, so a remaining / is the only thing to check.
Return 404 when the segment holds a /. Also add a case to unit_HttpServerModule_routes.cpp that checks the module still exists after the request.

Conflicts: platform_desktop.cpp took main's comment on the NDI exit hook. The three metrics reports (code.md, docgen.md, prose.md) took main's version and are rewritten by the gates, which run on this merged tree next; help.json was regenerated from the merged headers. … the report, CI on pull requests Every check now records its findings in one shape, and the test page is where they are read: each check's rules, every file it found something in, and the errors in full. The three report pages are gone. Pull requests, a fork's included, get their failing tests and their checks' errors as annotations, and our own branches upload the findings to code scanning. A data race between the render loop and the encode task is fixed. KPI: 256lights | Desktop:2366KB | tick:7/7/7/2/8/7/268/7/7/10us(FPS:142857/142857/142857/500000/125000/142857/3731/142857/142857/100000) | src:333(84514) | test:247(57522) | functions-over:349 Commit: src +15/-12 lines | test +209/-135 lines | code findings 1622 -> 1672 (#define used as a constant +1, double in firmware code +2, duplicated block +4, large file -1, mutable static state +44) | duplicated lines 3363 -> 3379 (+16) Flash split: esp32 +12.7 KB, esp32s3-n16r8 +11.1 KB, esp32p4rev3-eth +12.6 KB against the snapshot of bc70297, which predates the merged FSEQ player (PR #148); this branch's own src changes are the atomic counter, two comments and help.js. The counts move to JSON files with this commit, so the ratchets record rather than compare once. Rises against the last report pages: the three new code rules start at their first counts (mutable static state 44, double in firmware code 2, #define used as a constant 1); duplicated block +4 is the import header `import _findings` makes identical across check scripts, a script's standard import shape rather than repeated logic; prose's new rules start at VagueClose 28, LinkText 7, TonePadding 1, and every other prose rule fell (total 2409 -> 2357); docgen fell (warnings 3077 -> 3051, appendix 4388 -> 4376). **Core** - MoonModule::accumUs_ is a std::atomic, added with a relaxed fetch_add and reset with exchange: the drivers tick on the encode task and on the main loop, and ThreadSanitizer found the two writing the same counter. **Light domain** - A comment no longer dates itself ("currently" in Hub75Driver.h). **UI** - A control's test links read the scenario's name as the registry spells it, and an unsafe address gets no link rather than one to "#". **Scripts/MoonDeck** - Every check script writes its findings through moondeck/check/_findings.py; check_module and check_footprint have none of their own, and a test names them. - check_code, check_docgen and check_prose keep their counts in docs/reference/metrics/{code,docgen,prose}.json, read back from HEAD by _ratchet; the four parsers of the old pages' tables are gone, with check_docgen's DOC_AREAS and the page writers. - A rule a host cannot measure is left out of the record rather than recorded as zero (check_code's compiler rules, check_nonblocking's render path, check_docgen's help freshness). - check_code links each rule to its own standards section; its file rules share one firmware test and one code-of-a-line helper, so a `//` inside a string no longer cuts a line. - check_prose records the tree's debt as warnings, so "error" means "fails the check"; a base passed on the command line is used as given. - check_esp32_built keeps every firmware's last verdict. - run_scenario --name runs as a suite of one, so it records its run and honors --update-observed; --no-write goes, as a run no longer writes the file. - _observed loses the sample compaction, the empty block and the old window shapes. - test_host removes the last JUnit file before a run, so a run that writes none records none. - gen_tests: an instance has the type its last state document gave it, so a swapped instance is read as it is at each step, and `instances` declares only what a step uses before a document creates it; the unused full writer goes, one anchor and one readable title serve the help and the map; the registry is read once per docs build. - generate_test_docs.py is perf_table.py, named for what it does. - The VagueClose rule no longer matches "etc" inside a word or the path /etc/, nor "and more" in a comparison: 424 findings were 28. **Tests** - New: the SARIF export, the annotations, the prose ratchet, every check writing findings, a firmware's verdict kept beside the others, an instance swapped mid-scenario, a subcase counted for its longest case, a `//` in a string. - Fixed: the live test pins its size, the groups are named rather than counted, a test example matches the tree. **Docs/CI** - The test page replaces the code, docgen and prose reports, which redirect to their checks; a card lists every file with its errors, falls back to the committed counts where a check never ran, and the tree has a file level with counts on every node. - The test page mounts on Material's instant navigation, links files on the branch it was built from, and knows the Python, JS and check kinds. - test.yml annotates failing tests from JUnit through workflow commands, which need no token, so a fork's pull request gets them; findings.yml runs each check as a step, annotates error findings in the changed files and uploads SARIF on our own branches. - tests.schema.json describes only what the registry emits. **Reviews** - Reviewer (2313b88) tests.js mounted once, empty after instant navigation: done, mounted per page through document$, its page-wide listeners removed on the next mount. - Reviewer (2313b88) moonwalk.md linked ../tests.md: done, tests.md. - Reviewer (2313b88) `instances` a second home for a type the documents carry: done, and it found a real one: the Layers scenario read its GridLayout steps as WheelLayout. Types now follow the documents step by step; 15 scenarios lost their redundant declarations. - Reviewer (2313b88) two slug algorithms for one anchor: done, gen_tests.anchor. - Reviewer (2313b88) registry parsed four times per build: done, once. - Reviewer (2313b88) gen_tests.write a second publisher nobody runs: done, removed; the script writes only the step files the preview server reads. - Reviewer (2313b88) schema describes what does not exist: done, cut to the registry. - Reviewer (2313b88) the live test never pins the size, a magic group range: done. - Reviewer (2313b88) help.js comment above the wrong function, an unsafe link to "#": done. - Reviewer (2313b88) the readable scenario name derived twice: done, gen_tests.readable. - Reviewer (2313b88) stale "test inventory" docs, generate_test_docs.py misnamed: done, six sentences and the rename to perf_table.py. - Reviewer (2313b88) KINDS lacks python, js and check: done. - Reviewer (2313b88) `states` dead: done, removed. - Reviewer (2313b88) quadratic whitespace skip: done, one regex. - Reviewer (2313b88) a subcase's parent by set order: done, the longest prefix, pinned. - Reviewer (2313b88) the page links main's files: done, the index names the branch built. - Reviewer (4a76f17) run_scenario --name ignored --update-observed and recorded no run: done. - Reviewer (4a76f17) the runner's docs said a run writes the file: done; --no-write goes, as nothing is left for it to prevent. - Reviewer (4a76f17) _observed dead code and stale docs: done. - Reviewer (4a76f17) a stale JUnit file recorded as this tree's run: done. - Reviewer (4a76f17) prose rules outside the style lose their counts, a `%s` in the reasons: done, an "other" rule and the placeholder spelled. - Reviewer (4a76f17) the empty .mm-tests-card styles, `states`, the header line: done. - Reviewer (4a76f17) every code rule linked #static-checks: done, each to its section. - Reviewer (4a76f17) the vendor exclusion repeated, a `//` in a string cutting the line: done, one firmware test and one helper, pinned. - Reviewer (4a76f17) VagueClose's comment and "and more" at a line's end: done, pinned. - Reviewer (4a76f17) a test example contradicting the tree: done. - Reviewer (4a76f17) an unused variable in a test: done. - Reviewer (4a76f17) the live runner's duplicate window comment: done. - Reviewer (4a76f17) "this run's statistics" for a window's: done, the runners and testing.md. - Reviewer (4a76f17) findings read twice per build: done, with the registry. - Reviewer (4a76f17) the merge kept main's longer NDI exit comment: done, condensed with main's content. - Reviewer (tree) a process note that the tree moved during the review: accepted, the review ran while the other findings were being fixed; the gates ran on the final tree. - Reviewer (tree) check_prose recorded Vale's severity, so the tree's debt read as 1352 errors: done, recorded as warnings. - Reviewer (tree) two prose annotators on a pull request: done by the fix above, as the findings annotations carry errors only. - Reviewer (tree) in CI the added-lines prose gate checked nothing: done, the pull request's base is passed. - Reviewer (tree) the ratchet rolls over silently at this commit: accepted, the rises are named above. - Reviewer (tree) an unmeasured rule recorded as zero: done, in check_code, check_nonblocking and check_docgen. - Reviewer (tree) docgen's rules named two ways: done, by label in both. - Reviewer (tree) check_esp32_built kept one firmware: done, every firmware's, pinned. - Reviewer (tree) workflow-command properties unescaped: done, pinned. - Reviewer (tree) read_all ignores its directory for the committed half: done, a metrics argument. - Reviewer (tree) an empty list under every subject, the error rule twice: done. - Reviewer (tree) LABELLED: done. - Reviewer (tree) "report" left in a test name and a docstring: done. - Reviewer (tree) leftover links to the removed pages: done, in the backlog and a past plan; repo-health.md regenerates with the KPI run. Turning a driver on or off while the second core outputs a frame no longer races with that frame: the workers park first, as they already do when a module is added or removed. CI's Findings job now runs every check it lists. Commit: src +2/-1 lines | test +23/-0 lines | duplicated lines 3379 -> 3379 (+0) **Core** - MoonModule::setEnabled calls quiesceForMutation() on a real change, the rule every structural mutator already follows: ThreadSanitizer found the main thread writing a driver's flag while the encode task read it in tickChildren, and onEnabled may release what that tick uses. Both product paths (Scheduler::setControl's `enabled` and StateDocument's storeEnabled) go through it. **Scripts/MoonDeck** - perf_table.py loses an em-dash and an "actually", which counted as added lines once the rename made it a new file. **Tests** - A real switch parks the workers and setting the same flag parks nothing. **Docs/CI** - findings.yml generates build_info.h after configuring, since check_docgen parses a header that includes it. - prose.json: the recount. - The commit gates check one ESP32 firmware, the classic, rather than three: the code is shared across the chips and the release builds every shipped variant. The S3 and P4 freshness steps go. **Reviews** - CI run 39515175631 sanitizers (thread): the race in setEnabled, done. - CI run 39515175855 Findings: check_docgen without build_info.h, done; check_prose's em-dash in the renamed perf_table.py, done. A driver sending frames on the second core no longer races with the link status it reports once a second. The thread sanitizer now lists every race of a run, and a stale help.json says what differs. Commit: src +3/-2 lines | test +1/-1 lines | duplicated lines 3379 -> 3379 (+0) **Core** - The desktop platform's Ethernet send counters (ethSendFails_, ethFailTotal_) are std::atomic, as the ESP32 platform's already are: PanelCardDriver sends from the encode task while its tick1s reads the failure streak on the main loop. **Scripts/MoonDeck** - gen_help.stale() returns the difference as unified diff lines, and check_docgen prints its first lines with the finding, so a stale help.json says what moved. **Tests** - The switch test's comment fits one line. **Docs/CI** - The thread lane runs with halt_on_error=0: ThreadSanitizer reports every race of the run and still fails it with exit code 66, where halting at the first hid the next one behind each fix. **Reviews** - CI run 39517037834 sanitizers (thread): the race on ethSendFails_, done; the setEnabled race of the run before is gone. - CI run 39517037878 Findings: check_docgen's ratchet rose by 2, the switch test's over-wide comment, done; help.json stale in CI while fresh here, open: the finding now prints the difference, which the next run shows (a hypothesis: Ubuntu's libclang 18 reads the headers differently from LLVM 22). … every host A panel card driver no longer races between counting frames on the second core and reporting them once a second. The help file the device and the site read now generates identically on macOS and Linux. Commit: src +5/-3 lines | test +1/-1 lines | duplicated lines 3379 -> 3379 (+0) **Light domain** - PanelCardDriver's framesSent_ and framesDroppedTotal_ are std::atomic: tick() counts them on the encode task and tick1s reads them on the main loop. The last race the thread lane reports. **Scripts/MoonDeck** - gen_help finds a module's unit test by its exact file name: the glob matched unit_fluid.cpp for FluidEffect on macOS's case-insensitive file system and nothing on Linux, so CI found help.json stale. **Tests** - unit_fluid.cpp is unit_Fluid.cpp, the unit_<Module>.cpp every other module's file follows. **Reviews** - CI run 39517872044 sanitizers (thread): one race left in the suite, PanelCardDriver's frame counters, done. - CI run 39517872132 Findings: help.json stale in CI, done; the printed difference showed FluidEffect's test link, found by a case-insensitive glob on macOS only. …he S3 is the ESP32 gate A request naming a module longer than any module's name answers 400 on every route, where reading one answered 404. The ESP32 commit gate builds the S3, the firmware that compiles the most drivers, and the classic only for a MoonBase change. The website opens on README, so GitHub and the site say the same thing: a looping deck of every effect, the platforms, and where to go. The generated pages (Effects, Modifiers, Layouts, Drivers, Services, System, MoonWalk, Tests, Attributions) are tabs of their own, Getting started shows how MoonLight works for a user, and Reference and Developers hold the rest. Videos show a poster in Safari. KPI: 256lights | Desktop:2366KB | tick:7/9/12/2/8/8/267/8/6/9us(FPS:142857/111111/83333/500000/125000/125000/3745/125000/166666/111111) | ESP32:2282KB | src:333(84524) | test:247(57550) | functions-over:349 Commit: src +5/-3 lines | test +42/-33 lines | duplicated lines 3379 -> 3379 (+0) **UI** - help.js gives a .webm clip its poster, the .jpg beside it, so MoonWalk's clips and the device help show a frame before the clip loads. **Scripts/MoonDeck** - mkdocs_hooks: on_nav notes the pages that are a tab of their own, and on_page_markdown makes those page-wide; on_page_content gives every markdown `<video>` its poster; the home embeds README whole, its `docs/` links rebased (href and src) and LICENSE linked to GitHub; the H1 is swapped only when it names a file. - mtdeck.py records a catalog's card deck from the docs server as a looping GIF, cropped to the deck in whole pixels; mtvideo.poster writes a clip's poster after publishing, and the 17 clips have theirs. - check_taglines pins README and CLAUDE.md; the home embeds README, so it carries README's sentence. **Tests** - The docs examples test compiles the first-script tutorial too, which caught its per-light example looping to `lightCount`, a name MoonLive does not have: it loops to `width * height * depth`, as the shipped scripts do. - test_clip_posters pins a poster beside every clip, the poster rule and the deck crop; ui-help pins the clip's poster. - conftest puts moondeck/docs on the import path beside moondeck/check, so nine tests drop their own path line; four unused imports are gone. **Docs/CI** - README is 44 lines: the deck GIF, the platforms, where to go, how we work. Its history table moved to Why we write our own code, its numbers to Performance, its community list to Contributing. - Tabs: Home, Getting started, the generated pages, Reference and Developers. Tutorials, Lights, Core, Architecture and Contributing are no tabs; every moved page keeps its URL or redirects. - Getting started: how it works for you (eight cards with pictures), three ways in, the introduction, and how we build it, with a diagram of a change's path. - How MoonLight works and Making beautiful effects are explanations; Making beautiful effects closes with Making one good, the habits that keep an effect worth watching, in present tense. Write your first script and Build your own MoonModules are the two tutorials. - LED signal integrity joined Troubleshooting; the light supporting index moved to the MoonLight architecture's classes; small boards moved to future work; four MoonWalk processes link their reference page instead of repeating it. - generative-effects.md joined its hard-wrapped lines and dropped its dating words. - CLAUDE.md: an agent reads the process before acting on it, and its memory points to the process; a defect the change meets is fixed whichever file it is in, and named in the commit. **Reviews** - Reviewer (Fable), 1: the page-wide rule hit every page outside the nav, which has no parent either. Done: the nav names a tab (on_nav). - Reviewer, 2: the deck crop test passed without its rounding. Done: a GIF needs no even sides, so the rounding is gone and the test pins whole pixels with fractional inputs. - Reviewer, 3: check_taglines' docstring described three front pages and an include that does not work. Done: two written pages, the home embeds README. - Reviewer, 4: three places said the home embeds README's opening. Done: it embeds README. - Reviewer, 5: MoonWalk's what-it-is step read the home, which no longer says it. Done: it reads How MoonLight works. - Reviewer, 6: client-drawn clips (MoonWalk, device help) had no poster. Done: help.js adds it; moontube.md says which builder covers which clip. - Reviewer, 7: the first-script steps inside the MoonLive reference, and a lessons narrative inside the power-function catalog. Done, the product owner's call: the tutorial is its own page again, and Making one good is Making beautiful effects' last section in present tense; "On the S31" is "On the S3". - Reviewer, 8: three sentences past 30 words. Done: split. - Reviewer, 9: hard wraps and dating words in generative-effects.md. Done. - Reviewer, 10: a garbled clause in Contributing. Done. - Reviewer, 11: link text naming a deleted file in the shift-register analysis. Done. - Reviewer, 12: README's module specifications link one catalog. Skipped: the earlier `docs/moonmodules/` link is a folder with no page on the site's home, a 404. - Reviewer, 13: the deck's alt text hard-coded 70. Done: every effect. - Reviewer, 14: the hook docstrings were out of date. Done. - Reviewer, 15: a double blank line in Performance. Done. - Gates: unit caught the tutorial's `lightCount` and code caught a duplicated test header; both fixed as above, and every gate passes on the final tree. Three simplifications. Every activity's steps live once, in its MoonWalk process, which CLAUDE.md links rather than restates. Every test and every check lives in one registry: the website's test page shows each with its last result, a check's findings replace the three report pages, and a pull request, a fork's included, gets its failing tests and its checks' errors as annotations. And the website is organized by who reads it: the pages generated from the code are tabs of their own, a user finds Getting started and Reference, and a contributor finds Developers.
Processes, described once (bbd0251, bc70297, 15d7a79)
thencondition, derived foraddandset), and the MoonWalk reference page describes the map, the hosts and the stage files. The test engine (2313b88 to e1da011)
Plan: Test engine, all ten steps.
The documentation site, by reader (236ef5e)
mtdeck.py), the platforms, and where to go. README went from 225 lines to 44; what it held moved to the page that owns it.What the thread sanitizer and the reviews found
The module contract test ran a driver's encode task under ThreadSanitizer for the first time, and the lane now reports every race of a run. Fixed: the tick timing counter (atomic), switching a module on or off (it parks the workers first, as every structural change does), the desktop Ethernet counters and PanelCardDriver's frame counters (atomic). The pre-merge review added two more: a module route refuses a name no module can have with 400 on every route, and the ESP32 commit gate builds the S3, the firmware that compiles the most drivers. Backlogged as its own change: a control change reaching a driver while the encode task runs, which an audit of the drivers mapped.
Tested
Desktop: the unit suite (2,651 cases), the scenarios, the Python (577) and JS (332) suites, every commit gate. ESP32: the classic, S3 and P4 firmwares build. CI: every lane green, the thread sanitizer included. Not yet tested: a pull request from a fork.
